The BOA Group is celebrating the latest success of former student Bethany Antonia, who has been announced as a contestant in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Bethany, originally from Quinton, Birmingham, attended Perryfields High School before joining BOA Creative, Digital & Performing Arts Academy, where she studied Musical Theatre until graduating in 2016.
Since leaving BOA, Bethany has enjoyed an outstanding career across television, streaming and theatre. She is best known for portraying Lady Baela Targaryen in all four seasons of HBO's hit fantasy drama House of the Dragon, earning recognition from audiences around the world.
Her screen credits also include Netflix's 2021 adaptation of Harlan Coben's Stay Close, while earlier this year she made her acclaimed West End debut as Eurydice in the award-winning musical Hadestown.
Now, Bethany is set to take on a brand-new challenge as she steps onto one of the UK's biggest television stages as part of the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.
With comments to the BBC, Bethany said: "I can’t quite believe that I will be heading to the Strictly ballroom this September! I have grown up watching Strictly, and I am so excited to take the challenge on and (hopefully!) learn a new skill. See you on the dancefloor!"
Her announcement marks another milestone in an already impressive career and continues BOA's proud tradition of alumni achieving success across the creative industries. From the West End to Hollywood productions and major television dramas, BOA graduates continue to showcase the exceptional talent nurtured within the academy.
Everyone across The BOA Group is incredibly proud of Bethany's achievements and is excited to see her take to the famous Strictly ballroom.
Good luck, Bethany — we'll all be cheering you on and can't wait to tune in!
