Lead Practitioner for English

BOA Digital Technologies Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Lead Practitioner for English, working alongside staff and leaders to drive excellence in teaching and learning across the school. The role will be primarily based at BOA Digital Technologies Academy, with occasional opportunities to collaborate across other BOA Group academies in central Birmingham.
As Lead Practitioner for English, the postholder will play a pivotal role at the heart of the academy’s academic success, leading on the development of high-quality teaching, curriculum design and pedagogy within English. This is a role for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is committed to raising standards, modelling excellence, and supporting colleagues to refine and elevate their practice.
The successful candidate will champion a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement, using evidence-informed approaches to enhance teaching and learning. Through coaching, mentoring and collaborative working, they will inspire colleagues and ensure that all students develop strong literacy skills, a love of reading, and the confidence to express themselves with clarity and creativity.
With a passion for English and a commitment to educational excellence, the postholder will contribute to a dynamic and innovative learning environment where students are supported to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is driven to make a lasting impact—shaping both student outcomes and the quality of teaching across the academy.
The Group believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners—to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first-rate educational environment with excellent facilities, outstanding teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. You will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to further develop your own expertise and leadership capacity.
If you share the Academy Trust’s vision and ambitions, have a passion for English, and are committed to working within an ethos of creative collaboration and partnership, we would be delighted to hear from you.
