Director of Digital

This is not just another leadership role. It is an opportunity to lead, inspire and shape excellence in Digital education at the heart of a forward-thinking academy within a Trust driven by a deep commitment to creativity in education.

BOA Digital Technologies Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of Digital to join a committed team, working alongside staff and leaders to drive excellence in teaching and learning across the academy. The role will be primarily based at BOA Digital Technologies Academy, with opportunities to collaborate across other BOA Group academies in central Birmingham.

As Director of Digital, the postholder will play a pivotal role at the heart of the academy’s academic success, leading the development of a high-quality, industry-informed Digital curriculum across Computing, Information Technology and Creative Media. This is a role for an outstanding leader and classroom practitioner who is committed to raising standards, modelling excellence, and developing colleagues to deliver exceptional teaching and learning.

This is a crucial appointment at a significant stage in the academy’s development. The successful candidate will play a key role as the school prepares to welcome its first Year 11 cohort in September 2026 and looks ahead to the launch of a specialist Sixth Form in September 2027, with a strong focus on digital pathways.

The Director of Digital will be instrumental in shaping an ambitious Key Stage 4 and Post-16 offer, ensuring clear and meaningful progression routes into further education, higher education and careers within the digital and technological sectors.

The successful candidate will champion a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement, using evidence-informed approaches to enhance teaching and learning. Through strategic leadership, coaching and collaborative working, they will inspire colleagues and ensure that all students develop strong digital knowledge, technical skills and creative confidence.

With a passion for digital education and a commitment to excellence, the postholder will contribute to a dynamic and innovative learning environment where students are supported to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is driven to make a lasting impact—shaping both student outcomes and the future direction of digital education within the academy.

The Group believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners—to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first-rate educational environment with excellent facilities, outstanding teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. You will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to further develop your own expertise and leadership capacity.

If you share the Academy Trust’s vision and ambitions, have a passion for digital education, and are committed to working within an ethos of creative collaboration and partnership, we would be delighted to hear from you.
