Did You Know? BOA Ranks Among Birmingham’s Top 20 Secondary School

Big News. Big Results. BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts Academy is celebrating an outstanding achievement after being named among Birmingham’s 20 best secondary schools in the latest exams league table, with a strong overall result of 60.2% of students achieving at least 5 ‘strong’ passes including GCSE English and GCSE mathematics. This is in addition to 88% of students achieving at least 5 ‘standard’ passes including GCSE English and GCSE mathematics.

Based on national exam league tables highlighting the secondary schools where pupils are performing best, the ranking places BOA alongside some of the region’s most prestigious private and grammar schools. It recognises BOA as one of the city’s highest-performing schools — a testament to the talent, ambition and dedication of its students and staff.

The celebrations don’t stop there. Last week, BOA also received personal congratulations from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, who praised the academy’s exceptional outcomes for disadvantaged pupils at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. She described BOA’s performance as placing it “among the very best nationally”, highlighting the commitment of staff, the hard work of students, and the power of high expectations.

These achievements underline what makes BOA special: a bold, inclusive education that combines academic excellence with world-class creative, digital and performing arts training. BOA is proud to lead the way — sharing best practice, championing collaboration, and helping to raise standards across the education sector.

Alistair Chattaway, Principal of BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts said “I am delighted for our amazing and talented students who always work so hard across all subjects they take at Key Stage 4.  I must also pass on a big ‘thank you’ to all members of staff who work so hard on behalf of students and parents.”
